Oxide Wash

Oxide Wash applies mineral oxide pigments to glass during the kiln-firing process, creating colour that is part of the glass structure rather than applied to its surface. The technique produces translucent colour fields of extraordinary depth — the pigment sits within the glass, giving the colour a three-dimensional quality that surface paint or film cannot replicate.

Available in a curated palette of mineral-derived colours: iron oxide produces warm ochres and deep terracottas; cobalt creates blues from pale sky to near-opaque indigo; copper yields turquoise through to deep verdigris. Custom colours are available for bespoke commissions. The wash technique allows colour gradients — areas of high concentration transitioning to transparent — for atmospheric large-format panels.
