NUMARTIS Glass Surfaces · Hand-applied 22-carat gold leaf beneath protective glass

Gold Leaf

About This Variant

Gold Leaf

Numartis Gold Leaf is NUMAEX's most precious surface technique — sheets of 23.75ct gold leaf applied by hand to the interior surface of a glass laminate, encapsulating the metal between two panes of architectural glass. The result is a surface of extraordinary depth and warmth: the gold is visible through glass, giving it a suspended, luminous quality impossible to achieve with gold paint or foil.

Application is performed by specialist craftspeople in NUMAEX's studio, with each sheet of gold applied individually and overlapped to create areas of full coverage or deliberately sparse distribution depending on the design intent. The gold layer can be specified at full coverage for maximum brilliance, or at 40–60% coverage to allow the glass base colour to read through the metallic field.

Why NUMAEX

Why NUMARTIS Glass Surfaces by NUMAEX

NUMARTIS surfaces are cast and fired in our atelier as a single piece — no joins to telegraph, no surface laminates to lift, no field-applied finishes to drift over time. The result is a continuous architectural surface with the depth of stone and the optics of glass. Every panel is calibrated to the wall it will live on, not to a catalogue specification.
